1. Maintain
Don’t neglect the exterior of your property, as it’s the first thing potential buyers will see when visiting your home. An attractive exterior acts as an invitation to buyers to visit the interior.
Ensure that the yard is well maintained and clear of any debris. During the winter months, consider having photos that show the yard in the summer so that buyers can visualize their yard during the summer.
2. Declutter
Be sure to remove old furniture that blocks hallways or clutters rooms. Clear away as much as possible so that visitors don't feel cramped or claustrophobic.
Do a major clean-up, from the basement to the attic, including the garage, and get rid of all your useless items. Clear the kitchen counters as much as possible and give buyers a glimpse of all their storage options.
3. Clean
Inside, cleanliness is key. A clean home will quickly make buyers feel comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms must be immaculate. Take the time to clean your appliances and faucets, as well as the bathtub, sink and toilet. Don’t leave any dishes in the sink or towels on the side of the bathtub.

6. Brighten
It is essential that your house be well lit. Open blinds during the day and turn on the lights in the evening. If needed, add some lamps in dark corners.
